@mariekitu Yes, I´m learning English, and the teacher said the coma in English gives a different sense of that in Portuguese. Here, sounds in Portuguese like “I hope you don´t love her because your wife is beautiful…”. Actually, it is implicit that you´d like “to get” his wife, but beyond it, it is an extolment: “Quem me dera se…”, If would someone gave to me de opportunity of meeting your wife before you… sounds like an extolment, because you think she is a dream.

The comma placement makes this sound a bit like I would be saying : Your wife is beautiful, so I hope you don’t love her !
