eRomance.com has launched a “Local” tab, which provides a local guide to romance in 40 major cities throughout the United States, Canada, and the UK. The guides provide suggestions for date ideas and weekend road trips, and reviews of the most romantic restaurants, bars, and lounges in each city.
Unlike popular venue search sites, eRomance has compiled lists of recommendations specific to romance and dating. Moreover, the lists are community interactive. Users can leave comments about venues, rate them, and recommend venues to the rest of the community. As such, the lists are fluid and take advantage of the social nature of eRomance.com. Over time, the community contributions will begin to shape the local guides and become a representation of local knowledge, from contributing members.
The local romance guides are a compliment to the current features on eRomance.com including free online dating, discussions, and articles about relationships and dating. The release of these guides mark a turning point for eRomance.com, which is nearing the completion of its Beta release program. “The concept of eRomance has always been to focus on romance, not just dating. Until now there has been very little to distinguish us between other dating sites but with the release of the local romance guides (and 2 other tabs coming soon), it will soon be apparent that eRomance is not just an online dating site. Rather, we want to cater to romance on a broader scale. Online dating, yes - but eRomance should be a place for people planning a date, considering their relationship, or looking for love – not just the latter of those three,” says Neal Cabage – the founder of eRomance.com.
