I’m sure Walken screwed up his lines in this scene, logically it should have been “what we have here is a litle game of show and tell, you don’t want to tell me anything but you show me everything” he got it the wrong way round I believe.

Well, this scene along with the scene where Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta exchange the dialogue between each other during the “restaurant scene” form the movie “Goodfellas”. ………”Whattya’ mean I’m funny?” Two of the best scenes ever.
This has to be, quite easily, one of the BEST scenes in motion picture history.

I have to disagree. I am black and my sister is married to a man from Sardinia. My sister has encounted no racism when she visits Italy and whe has been to places like Rome, Naples and naturally Sardinia. I visited Sardinia twice and they were all very welcoming and lovely. If youtube is anything to go by then Americans are far more racist. Forza Italia. :)

Hoppers character knew that they would torture him into betraying his son. So, he provoked them into killing him. It is a badass monologue and I don’t think that anyone should read too much into it.
this is just two great actors goin at it, with a script by tarantino. stop readin’ too much into it. italians are some of the best lookin people – north and south – No worries!
