Serendipity was awesome thought it was? a fluke…doesnt really happen… well to me atleast

this is so truehowever – using serendipity as an example is sort of laughable. I did not find that? movie romantic. The guy who falls in love with the girl who says they might be destined to be together – is already engaged to be married. From the bride to bes perspective this movie is a nightmare.

OK,am a girl and? i agree watching too many chick flicks or even reading romantic novels can subconsciously create unrealistic romantic expectations…i dont want a guy from the movies,i want sb real however guys out there it wudnt kill you to b a lil spontaneous n romantic with ur special sb’s,u know…so this new development shudnt b a rizn to get beered up with ur guy friends n underappreciate ppl in ur lives!

Girls want to believe all that crap could also be true for them as THEY THINK it is for JLo or Drew, and create frustrations when they realise they’ll never live up to those standards. They don’t have McConaghey? at the side but yours truly. We just go to the theatre with them to watch arse in or around the screen. What else ;-D

as much as i hate romance comedies, i can’t help but wonder if this is just the truth with most movies.what about a stereotypically “GUY” movie?i’m sure there are studies connecting violence in youth to their theatrical heroes on the big screen as well.as people we just look around for a way? to relate ourselves, model ourselves “discover ourselves”so maybe it’s not just the content but the accessibility.maybe movies are just too big a part of our culture.

I agree and disagree. Romantic comedies are fun to? watch. But just that. people really believe things happen this way then they need help. But still they are fun to watch.

Never seen any of these movie. I like reality. I am also not white, so I can’t relate to any of those white people on screen. It is? worst if you are non-white watch these so called perfect white people and their lives. Because you might think race might have something to do with you being poor. Either way, movies are not an escape for me. It is torture.

  8. lelocker

White or? black, it’s all people!!!

  9. shootthedevil

Black and white people live different lives. White people have built for themselve racist institution to prop their race up. Black people live in poverty in the? city. White people live in lilly white suburb.

i get what you’re saying. when you’re young, you’re in your formative years. you’re easily influenced, ignorant and a tad insecure. watching these movies will make an obvious thing pop out.”hey, i don’t? look like any of these people”i can imagine what that does to a youth’s mind.”i don’t have a chance to be as happy as them”on a basic levelbut for the record, i’m “white” and i can’t relate to them either.”i look like them so i must become them or i am a failure” is also another idea
